WILL IT EVER STOP!!!!

Post by HunterGKS »

So far, this year has been especially wet. I have had 35.9” so far. The area where the barn
was still needs to be cleaned up & a final grade done but it’s been too wet. We finally had
a stretch or 12 days with no rain & the area was dry. The 3 days that dropped 2.3” followed
by 10 dry days. The area dried up pretty quickly. They dropped the skid steer & 2 attachments
this past Monday. As they were unloading, it started to rain & has rained every day since except
for Friday, 4”.

It was a beautiful day today until 06:15 P.M., when a storm blew in & the skies opened. Along
with thunder boomers & some lightning, between 06:15 & 06:24, I got 1.8” & it’s still drizzling.
It’s hard telling when it will be dry enough again. As the pirates used to say:

AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!

Not sure where you are Hunter, but we are underwater here in Holmes/Wayne county bridges and roads washing out, houses flooding, it's pretty bad.

Chatfield/Bucyrus Crawford. Ebded up with 3" last night & it looks like it's getting ready to start again.

I know how ya' feel George.
It started rainin' here mid-Sept nd I took the rain guage down mid-Dec with 27 1/2" and it rained most all of the winter and now, dang near a dust bowl.
Chatted with buddy in Gratiot County Michigan yesterday and he got started in wheat on Thursday and Fri. then got rained off .. but needed the over 1/2" he did get. Wheat is good so far, but has been sprayed with a fungicide earlier for potential Vomatoxin problems associated with head scab occurring.
Last field of soys planted on 7/4 are up and a long long ways to go while his other soys have all been sprayed 2 times and should be good for growth .. with rain now, "AFTER" wheat harvest!!?? :stir:
ever wonder where the white goes when the snow melts??

As far as I can tell, they got all the wheat off & straw baled last week. It's played hell on the hay.
Some guys are only on 1st cutting & should be 2-3 at least. Gonna be a hard & costly road to feed this winter.

Crawford County averages 39.6" per year over 135 days.

So far this year, I have had 36.9" over 72 days. If it keeps
up, we're on pace for a record.

We had a record rainfall last year in Raleigh, though you couldn't tell it over the past month. Been dry as chalk around here until the past few days. Got an all day soaker going on today. The lake levels ought to come up to where the fishing should be happening by Saturday. Average annual rainfall at the Raleigh airport is 41.5 inches. Last year we had 57.28 inches. We've had 26.25 inches so far this year if anybody besides me cares.

:LMAO: I keep my own rain gage for my recording of rain here in the upstate .. the news media depends on the airports weather recordings!! :o
At least in MI, they had weather stations all around the different production areas, for variances in weather conditions

All that rain has to be helping the new grass on the Rover Pipeline. Dying to see pictures of that grass!

The best grass is grown in a greenhouse with regulated temps and moisture, then it goes up in smoke...
