Took a walk around my place a little bit ago & spotted this doe several hundred
yards away in the corn stubble. It doesn't look as if she's dropped yet but it
should be any day now.

About half a dozen cooked whole in the smoker and a keg of beer and you will have more friends than you thought, oh by the way cole slaw goes best with those tasty little morsels.

Most of the deer had their fawns on May 20-22 around here ( in central N.C.). One of the does I feed by hand brought her twins up for the first time today. I'll see if I can get pictures tomorrow.

Re: Any Day Now
Never had fawn so young that it still had spots. I've heard some folks early bow hunt in some states specifically trying to kill a fawn with most remain spots as a competition among friends. In Arkansas, our season starts the next to last weekend in September. No spots or velvet remaining then, but still 90 degree afternoons many years. More enjoyable to wait till mid October to get after them around here, but fawns do eat good even if they get to grow a couple "extra" months.
