Re: Remembering
Memorial Day: It is not about a long weekend, BBQ drinking beer around a fire although take place on this weekend and that's fine just remember the reason
Memorial day is for those whom have paid the ultimate sacrifice. Those that were lost in the revolutionary war, war of 1812, those who died in pearl harbor sneak attack or the brave that stormed the beaches of Normandy, those that fought in the jungles of vietnam or Korea many of whom family will never have closure (MIA) and those that lost their lives fighting door to door in Iraq and Afghanistan and those wars we civilians don't know about.
I've been to the the tomb of the unknown soldier winessed funerals in Arlington very very powerful
As you sit down to dinner tommorow say a prayer for your freedom and liberties that would not be here without sacrifice.
But most importantly say a prayer for those that have endured a flag draped coffin or go to a tomb of a fallen hero.
