Hooked on co-cane

Post by appalachianassassin »

I was very recently gifted my first river cane yelper. The maker will remain anonymous but if you are lucky enough to have one of his calls I feel sorry for the turkeys in your zip code. 3 in the last 3 days. My 2 nc birds and a bird I called in for a friend this morning.

Good deal. Congrats. I’ve had a gobbler to respond to mine Monday morning several times but he didn’t commit he had hens.
I’m liking mine a lot.

Very good advice. Turkeys are incredibly tolerant of bad yelper technique and sometimes like it better than good yelper playing.

Congrats! I have killed my AL limit and used the Rivercane on 4 of them. I was pinned down on one and could only use the mouth call. I like using the combination of the mouth call and the Rivercane.

Many thanks to GLS for teaching me how to make these.

Since the gobbler was using a mouth call and trumpet, wasn’t it confusing that you working a hen when you were actually working him?[emoji12]

Seriously, nice bird [emoji1417]
