First with a 28ga
Got my first with the 28ga this morning. I got about 150 yds from his roost in the corner of a big cut over, i was in the tree line 90° to him and I expected to see him pitch down to a open strut zone after I made a few tree yelps and he answered. I never heard him pitch down but he made his way around me and gobbled about 100 behind me, the Ol boy came to about 70yds and lost interest, I got ahead of him and he did the same thing again gobbling all the way. When I purred on the Close Calls slate to try to get him to close the distance he didn’t like something, made a few clucks and away he went. I let him go away for about 20 min and headed straight at him about 100 yds, set up and made a few soft yelps and a few clucks then put down the call. About 15 min later he came slipping through looking.

Good deal? What loads are you using in your 28-gauge?
By the way, nice looking O/U!

Congrats! Great bird to christen your new 28!
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?
