On the way home from lunch today, i saw this 'yote trotting across
a field less than 1/2 mile from the house. All I had was my 9 so it
got gone unscathed.

I sure like my .223 it's just a single shot NE Handi-Rifle but it sure is accurate, bought it 16 yrs. ago MAK IV and just can't bring myself to sell it or give it to a different grandkid, so I use it on occasion when the
need too.

I usually have the .223 or .17 some place close in hand but don't usually carry either in the truck.

Even if I had the .223, I probably wouldn't have taken the shot.
I'd have been shooting from the road (illegal) & towards some
houses(dangerous at best.) Maybe it'll make a mistake & show
up at the house.

We use to run them thru county neighbors yards all the time when we hunted with dogs

Even had a dead fox standing up against a farmers house one time, after rigor mortis set in .. he had to have his wife & daughter come ot in the snow & cold and marvel at what had happened

My MI buddy carries a 17 rim and a 17 center, all the time in his 1 work truck and another 17 rim that I gave him, in another one
