On the way home Tuesday, I spotted a pair of Mallards in the Brokensword Creek
along Bethel Road but they disappeared before I could get any pics. I was prepared
today just in case. The lens cap was off, the camera turned on, & the driver’s side
window down. As I neared the spot where the creek is nearest the road, I slowed &
saw several geese & ducks, some in the water, some on land. I stopped & started
snapping. After a few minutes, they got nervous & took to the air. I love getting
action shots like these.
After they were gone, I pulled up several yards to where the creek bends towards
the west. There were a lot of mallards & most took to the air before I got stopped.
Again, I got some pretty good action shots.
The colors on the drakes are amazing to me. The green head just shines so brightly.
At the northern most end of Bethel, I spotted this lone hen walking to the woods. The
field must have still been pretty muddy as the 2nd pic seems to show her feet covered
with mid.
I did see 1 squirrel but it didn’t want to pose. No deer.
