Day 1 Turkey Convention
Guesswho donated a shirt to give a young man. Has done this before and failed to get a picture.
After seeing lots of kids walking through this young man stuck out to me and I asked him if he was a turkey hunter and he said yessir. I got his name and wrote it down so I could post his name but lost the paper. He was tickled to get this shirt. He’s gonna grow into it..

Met Doug Updike. Bought a few mouth calls and a hooks slate. Seems to be more outfitters than call makers. Oh, and I about got run over by a gobbler deke on wheels! Oh brother!!

I felt sorry for the guy who was peddling that garbage, Little kids seemed to enjoy it, probably thought it was a transformer!
Re: Day 1 Turkey Convention
That kinda stuff is why I stopped going to the convention.

Re: Day 1 Turkey Convention
A little off topic but how’s the parking for the convention? Do you have to pay to park? I’ve never been before and was thinking of driving up in the morning.

Re: Day 1 Turkey Convention
Unless things changed parking at the nearby mall was an easy option. Did it a few times when we lived in western KY. Wife then went along and wore the mall out while I was at the convention. This info is dated so maybe someone else will chime in. That mall took a big hit a few years ago when the Cumberland River flooded. Bass Pro once ran a shuttle also. Have fun although Saturday is usually a circus.
Re: Day 1 Turkey Convention
I’ll be at the circus in 2 hrs.

Re: Day 1 Turkey Convention
My first trip to the NWTF convention. I had a good time with friends. Picked up my first David Hollaron call and several new mouth calls.
“What gets us jangly is the suddenness of everything. We hunt turkeys because we want to hear them gobble, watch them strut and all that, and we hunt them with shotguns because we want to be close to them when those things occur." - Jim Spencer
