It was a Dark and Snowy Afternoon

Post by HunterGKS »

Last Friday on the way home from lunch, I went past a corn field that had at least 50 turkey feeding.
They were fairly close to the road, so I could see that there were a few decent gobblers. Unfortunately,
that was 1 of the few times that I didn’t have my camera in the truck.

I went home the same way today & spotted the flock walking along the edge of the woods on the far side
of the field. It was 16 with a strong wind & blowing snow. I’d bet the WC was nearing 0. I was in the truck
with the heater blasting & the driver’s window open & I was cold!! There were at least 21 birds that I could
count & it looked like several redheads but, with the distance & blowing wind, I couldn’t spot any beards.

I had taken 39 pics & these were the only ones that were halfway decent.
