Today is an anniversary of sorts for me. In 2012, I had my right knee replaced.
It has been working a whole lot better than the real 1 did!

Thx. It all started in '66 when I was crack-back blocked during a practice & compounded in '73
when a drunk ran a stop sign & I t-boned him with the motorcycle I was riding. It finally gave
out in 2011 while on a fall turkey hunt in NY.

Thx. I think it hurt more before the operation than after. I was in the hospital for
4 days & only used 1/4 a bag of morphine. They told me people usually used 2 bags.

I took 1 pain pill before physical therapy to get ahead of any pain & occasionally at
bed time not because it hurt but it did throb keeping me awake. That was it.

Messed my knee up pretty bad but got lucky everything healed Up on it’s on. That’s an anniversy worth celebrating, nothing more unsettling than that floaty knee pain.

Thx. I've always had a high pain threshold but that's not always a good thing
causing me to do things when I should be stopping.

The 1st injury in HS all I had was ultrasonic treatments. I still had some problems but not too bad.

The 2nd injury I had reconstructive surgery.

The 3rd wasn't an injury per say. The knee just wore out as a result of the past injuries as well
as everything I had put it through in the previous 39 years.

I've never had "great" legs/knees but they're in a lot better shape now.

The 1st pic is after the bike accident & before the surgery.

The 2nd pic is after the surgery. You can just barely see the scar.

The 3rd pic is after the replacement. The long, straight scar is the replacement
& the one to the left is the reconstructive.
