Getting the right hip replaced, and will have to get the left done in next couple of years. Wonder if they will let me have the bone to make strikers out of. That would sell like hot cakes on EBAY.

Praying that all goes well for you, Jay. My SIL had one put in last Thursday! My brother has had two. They’ve come a long ways and you’ll be on your feet faster than you would think!

FYI- Any and all exercise which you can do pre-op will help,ask the Dr.. Post-op, follow the rehab regimen exactly and don't try to over do it which can actually be detrimental to your long term recovery. Start the stool softeners 4-5 days before surgery, "So go the bowls, so goes the body." "you've got to be mean and tough to be old".

They keep the bones and sell them to the company that makes Peppermint flavored paper paste out of them, damn glad I didn't eat that stuff in grade school like the rest of the little gimps did.

I had a Total Hip replacement on Jan 5th 2001 and was hunting Elk at 10,000 foot on horseback on Sept.19th 2001. Do your PT afterwards and you will be fine! Good Luck!
