Completed my royal slam April 25th. It was a awesome trip. Had a blast in Mexico. The hospitality was second to none. Loaded with birds. I killed the evening I got there. We killed 9 birds in 1.5 days. 6 of us. Then it was story time and drinking time the other 2 days. GOOD TIMES.
Rio Sonora outfitters gets it done.
Now back to hunting these hard headed easterns. Lol. Great group of guys to in camp. Guy with the sunglasses on finished his world slam with a recurve on this hunt. Stats of my bird. 18# 10.875” beard and .750 spur and a broke spur.

Congrats! Gould's are fun to hunt. ...Not the sharpest tools in the shed,...but fun nonetheless. Going to Mexico to hunt them is also an adventure. It is always a relief when you get back into the states without incident.

How does it work bringing the meat, spurs, cape or tailfan back to the US? Does the outfitter set that all up?

No meat. We eat some of the meat in camp. The ranch hands cape the birds out there for you. Ranch owner takes them to his house back in casas grandes and freezes them. We picked them up on way back to the US. Then back at the border they check them and put them in bags and put quarnteen tape around them. The outfitter takes care of the whole process though. We just pulled the trigger and signed some papers. Well that’s how it was with my outfitter any way. That’s why I recommend them. You pay that money you should receive the best and that’s what we received.
