By Request – Rover Pipeline Pumping Station – 03/11/18

Post by HunterGKS »

I haven’t been by the pump station since 12/03/17 & decided to do a drive-by this morning.
It looks like it’s pretty much done but I can’t tell if it’s operational yet. There is no visible
smoke coming from the stacks. They still have to resurface the road.

The last picture shows what a good job they did “covering their tracks” so to speak. If it
wasn’t for the sign, you wouldn’t know that just a few months before, the was a 6’+ ditch
& a lot of huge timbers in this area.

Read the last paragraph of the 1st post. If you see soy been stubble you need to get your eyes checked.
The only possible stubble is on the upper right near the towers & the lone tree.

This pic was taken on 04/09/2017 from the same spot on the road. The only thing planted there may
have been grass, which is required by the state.

And this 1 was on 09/10/2017.

I would venture to say they are not operational, under their Title V permit they are tracking the amount of particulate matter generated from driving on that unpaved road as part of their overall emissions. Likely still in the construction phase, not operational phase, still actively managing stormwater discharges too. However I agree - not far from startup.

This would be my guess as well. The only thing is that all the roads are paved. The 1 that runs right in front of the station is all tore up from all the trucks & will have to be repaved after they are completely done. The pipe runs under my 2 lane that is pretty heavily traveled by semis hauling grain & stuff from a quarry to the west as well as farm equipment & regular traffic. The traffic will increase soon when planting starts. It also goes under SR 4 about 1/2 mile to my east which has a lot of semi traffic as well as lake traffic So far, I haven't heard of any issues in this area.

The station is surrounded by 1 lane, paved country roads on the E, N, & W & by a paved 2 lane on the south, my road.

A question was raised on the Ohio Sportsmans site so I did a little research & found that, as of Feb.. 26, 2018:

"federal regulators told Energy Transfer Partners to cease construction on its Rover pipeline in Ohio while the
state conducted an investigation into a May 2017 pipeline fluid spill that damaged pristine wetlands."

I didn't find anything after that related to the stoppage.

I hadn't heard anything about the stoppage.

This would be even more uninteresting if the state allowed a Caterpillar D8 to doze this stupid Rover Pipeline under 2,000,000 cubic yards of dirt.

I'll concur with ya' on the planted grass instead of the stubble and yes, they did an excellent job on putting it back to original ;)

I may not be from Missouri but may have ya' tell me along with & show me :stir:
