They're out there...

Post by ole5beards »

Some of y'all might have already seen this video. I applaud the family for keeping their calm and not letting these nut jobs get them on their level. They're better than I am, I know I would have came unglued! There's a time and place for everything in this world, and harassing a family who has done absolutely nothing wrong or illegal, who is choosing to spend their time enjoying the outdoors fishing, is not the right place nor time. I've read some crazy stories over the years about Anti's disrupting the outdoor freedoms and rights that we have, and this one might seem minor compared to other outcomes, however this is still insane! I'm just glad that this family was more level headed than most would have been in that situation, throwing a mans legal catch back in the water???

I think they should have thrown that d bag over the railing like he threw the fish over it. If I was in that situation it would have not been pretty.

Laying fish out in the sun to die on concrete is asking for this type of response. I couldn't stand by and let him throw my fish back though.

Tennessee has a Hunter Harassment Law which covers the legal taking of "wild animals" and violation is a Class C Misdemeanor. The law has already been applied to a fishing harassment incident and would have been applicable to the situation in the video. It's a shame that the proper authorities didn't arrive on the scene, and it's obvious that the jerk and cow were trying to provoke a physical altercation. They were both lucky that the fisherman showed such restraint and didn't throw them and their camera/phone into the water, and their brazen behavior will hopefully be rectified in the future by someone less tolerant. IMO they both need a good ass whipping.

Missouri has a hunter harassment law and I have seen it in action first hand. Had a residential goose shoot and had one homeowner throw a fit and came out with a cap gun (i guess his kids) and started pointing at us (not a fun situation to be in) and the geese shooting the thing. He called the sheriff department and then the sheriff dep. had to call the county game agent. When the agent showed up and preceded to tell the guy not to bother us any more he waited till they left. Then came back out shooting the dam cap gun and yelling at us. So we called the sheriff that had just left and he comes back and took the guy down to the sheriff department and charged him.

Wow, I'm generally and easy going guy but watching that d-bag holler and harass those fishermen set me off. Had the anti walked up calmly and spoke to those fisherman with respect instead of irrationally I wouldn't have gotten so heated.

Montana has those hunter harassment laws but I know of no situation where they have been applied.

Didn't watch it all, but my cell has the # of "THE MAN", and he would've been on his way as soon as this started.

Though, the fish should've been out of sight and out of mind, especially where they were at

I agree they should have had a bucket or stringer handy, i thought I remember someone saying they were getting a bucket to put the fish in after it was caught? It really wouldn't have mattered in this case as the mob was ready to jump regardless!
