My future hunting partner.

Post by Fl strutter »

My wife gave birth to my first child last night. A baby boy. Can't wait for the day he's sitting between my legs starring down the barrel shaking to death as he's aiming at his first strutter. Image

I've already got his first gobbler gun. A old 20 gauge single shot that was my grandfathers and was given to my dad as his first gun and he gave it to me as my first now I get to pass it on to my son.

You have a big job ahead of you as I'm sure you know. It's one of life's greatest challenges and I think the most rewarding. I remember taking my daughter with me. After a couple of potty breaks while I was working a gobbler we finally got him to show up. That turkey never flopped a lick until I picked him up and then he went ballistic. She started screaming "Put that thing down Dad it's not dead yet."
My wish is for you to have memories with your new one as golden as that one is to me. Congrats!!

Congratulations! They do grow up fast - ours are 7 (son) and 9 (daughter). God blessed me with a nice tom this year, when I had them sitting on each side of me. Words can't describe getting hugged by both at once with a nice tom to carry home. :D You have plenty of challenges and rewards in your future, now that the greatest job on earth is yours.
