Another Limbhanger
Another Limbhanger
Seems like I get to hunt with my oldest son less and less each spring. These days he is more interested in baseball and girls more than turkeys. However, I did manage to get him out Saturday morning and he connected on a good one. Bird only gobbled once on the roost around 6:30 but that was enough to enable us to pick a good set up spot. Once settled in, I hoped he would gobble again on the ground but he never did. At 7:15 I figured he had to be on the ground so I did a few soft calls with one of my slates. After 10 minutes and no response, I turned up the volume on the calling ending the sequence with some excited cutts. Still no answer. A few minutes later my son said, " I see him and he's coming quick." I was trying to get my phone up to video but when I looked back up he was at 12yds in full strutt so I gave Payton the go ahead

Carter was all upset about it. He doesn't like it when his brother does something he didn't do.2Shooter wrote:Awesome hunt Toddmann!!! Glad you got to share that with him!!! By the way what is mad turkey killer Carter doing these days?

Congrats to you and your son.
I know the feeling with the kids as the get older. My oldest is soon to be 18 and barely has time to hunt between school, a job, and a girl. Seems like just yesterday he was following me on every hunt.
