Me and Gophert spent a nice rainy day together

Post by Shooter »

The morning started out nice, with several birds gobbling. They decided to do their own thing, as usual. :x :x
Rain was off and on most of the day, but decided to go out this afternoon, knowing full well there was a large thunderstorm coming.
I had him drop me off on one end of a gas line, and went to the other and parked the truck.
We were to set up in two different spots we had been seeing birds in the afternoon, bout half mile apart.
Mother nature came, and flooded. I waited it out before I eased on down toward him.
I was shocked to see there were several out in the gas line during the gulley washer.
Anyways, one thing led to another, and got one of the Longbeards inside 40yds.
With all the lightning, and thunder, the rest didn't even run after the shot, but finally eased on off.
Even with good rain gear, we still got soaked, but I reckon it was worth it.  :o

I can't stand to hunt in the rain, just because of taking a harvested pic. of the drowned tom, as it never does just to the beauty of the bird, that it needs to be shown as!! :o

Congrats on a rainy day tom
ever wonder where the white goes when the snow melts??

WTG boys. Just got back from Ky and did alot of hunting in the rain. Hate it, although the turkeys don't seem to mind so much.
