thanks man. ill still go every day, I just wont have a gun. ive got a lot of friends that love to shoot turkeys. they don't realize im the one that gets to have the fun and gain experience at the same time. looks like they would learn eventually to do it themselves. :dontknow:

I went to call for a friend this morning on a bird he has hunted since opening day. some light calling after flydown was more than his poor heart could take. best turkey ive seen this year. 1 1/4 spurs, shaped like fishhooks and sharp as needles. that's huge spurs in my neighborhood, usually any longer than that and they are broken off. the hunt gave me a lot of confidence as he himself is an accomplished caller/woodsman. hes the guy that gave me the nickname Appalachian assassin.

Send some of those, "ripe for the picking" birds my way. Seems like the aliens zapped them all up or they moved to your neighborhood.

Congrats on a fine season.

turkey numbers are way down around here too I believe. my two favorite spots have been silent all year. 3 of my birds came from places ive never hunted before.

Ouch, on the bird #'s being down, as I heard some disturbing news why he feels this way, for certain states, from a very respected turkey hunter from TN, I went with to Mexico last week with.

Way to re-group and make the best of a diminishing situation and help other also
