What Is It????

On the way home from lunch on 03/07/17, I spotted a hawk sitting atop something in a field. I wanted to get a pic of the hawk but it took off before & could so I took a couple of pics of whatever it had. My 1st thought was groundhog but, after blowing up the pics, I’m not sure what it is. The ears, on the right, appear to have some white as does the side or whatever it is at the top.

Anybody want to hazard a guess??

I kinda thought of that also. The coloring seemed off but that could be because of the blood & I think that was 1 of the days we had rain so it was wet as well.

Looks like to me the rear feet are on the left, head is on the right with the ears being light colored. I think you are looking at the back of it.

I threw a pair of Mucks in the truck this morning with the though of checking out 1 of “my” turkey spots. A lot of trees had blown down & I wanted to see how much work was needed. Luckily, none.

It happens that this is the same area as where I saw the hawk & the “What is it?” I found the remains & there is no doubt about what the critter was.

Congrats to all who guessed correctly. You know your dead critters!!
