The 28 rises to speak

Post by DocHolliday »

Beautiful morning! The 28 reached out and touched one this morning. Distance? Well, I'll not speak of that because someone here might take umbrage and say that I can't call one into shooting distance. Very enjoyable hunt. Always great to be out in God's great creation.

Congrats you seem to killem early every year !!
I thought the only rule here was if you kill a turkey it must be over 40.5 yards ! ;)

I have found that 35 miles per hour is as fast as I can accurately shoot one out my truck window. Any faster causes lead problems. Nice photo and bird, Doc. Gil

Having a good mirror rest and a red dot helps....

Beautiful bird shot with a beautiful gun, congrats!!

I thought spring was all but here until the last storm dumped somewhere between three and four feet of snow on us. I should have known better, but you can't blame a guy for hoping. Congrats again. :struttin:

Do you tote your gun upside down?

Yes, I do Denny. Faster into battery and the barrel doesn't stick up above my shoulder to catch on stuff. We hunt some pretty thick stuff. Just habe to be careful and mindful of safety.

I understand completely. Better safe than sorry as they say.

I am looking forward to getting my 28 some experience this spring.... April 29th is a ways off.
