Wondered why the birds weren't gobbling. Got a glimpse of this one as he was coming in silent. Switched to the Thumb Mouse call to coax him on in. A buddy shot him at about 20. Best kind of coyote that I know of.

I have often wondered if the decline in gobbling through the years is in direct proportions to those sob's increasing numbers. I tend to think it is. I used to blame egg eating black snakes, opossums, skunks or owls and hawks preying on them. Maybe its that the genetically loud mouthed gobblers are picked off by the yotes? awsome!! i just started trapping them last fall. only got to run traps for a week and caught 1 big female. Had 2 get away. one trap was full of back hair,so i think the yote rolled on it. Let me tell you, when you get 8 to 10 ft. from one of those in a trap for the first time it will make you nervous!
