Good Season Despite!
As far as being on the gun in my home state, my season ended today. Good news is my neighboring state opens Saturday. Better news is I also got to watch my Daughter kill her first of the year this week, and hopefully will get to watch her fill a couple more tags before it's over. But if not it's still been a great year despite lack of gobbling activity. College takes away from her hunting time but she seems to make the best of it when she does get to go. Always a good hunt with her.
I've noticed so far the gobbling has been way down compared to most years. I've hunted several small leased properties and hit public land a couple times. The best gobbling we've heard was on the public. Seems to be as many birds this year but they have been relatively tight lipped so far, but responsive to calling. For the people already hunting or scouting how has the gobbling and sightings been. Good, average, off? I've heard some folks mention it seems to be slower in my neighboring state as well. Maybe it has something to do with that El Niño deal they says going on, who knows. Anyway good luck to all.

Yep sounds like a pretty good season so far despite the lack of gobbling. I guess that does affect it though as sitting listening to them fire off is half the fun !! Cool that your daughter still hunts with you despite being off to college good luck getting her on a couple more and yourself in that neighboring state although I doubt you need any luck the way you are laying them down !!

Re: Good Season Despite!
Slow for me so far, we open Saturday. I hope the lack of gobbling I'm hearing will equate to just a fraction of the success you've had! That's about as strong of a start as a man can have...congrats, and good luck the rest of the way.
