What other turkey forums do you get on?
I don't get on that other site anymore... well every now and then I'll see if something good is available, and I'll have my buddy buy it. I got banned for no reason.
Anyways, I pretty much just look on here, GON, and Aldeer.

Those "Other" forum are dictatorships. If you don't like the kings new clothes it's off with your head. This is my forum of choice 99.9 % of the time.

The only two I check with any regularity are gobblernation and aldeer. I check bullnettlenews and gon some too but not every day
Re: What other turkey forums do you get on?
This is the only one for me, anymore stress and I would be in the nuthouse again. As long as I take my meds twice a day I'm OK.

This is the only one I've ever managed to get past the screening process.

I work too many hours but I try to check in here daily and will check GSN and GON as well. I participate very little on those at this point in time. Haven't even looked at OG for months.

THERE ARE OTHERS? Jk aldeer also
Re: What other turkey forums do you get on?
I just joined this site a few weeks ago and I also joined-old gobbler.com at the same time. I am quavers59 on that site. And I am on HuntingNY.com. I have been there for less then 2 years. Most of the members there are ok-(but)---one does get trashed there by some!! The Dept Of Environmental Conservation in New York had a public input period about the issue of (slashing) the NY Fall turkey season from 6 weeks to just 2 weeks and the take from 2 birds to just 1. While, I like the (new) Fall turkey opening date which is now 2 weeks later at Oct 17th --rather then Oct 1st when pheasant season opens as well. The later date makes the turkeys super wary as many pheasant dogs will bust up flocks.
Now- where I live in Orange County, NY---wild turkey numbers are really high. I know as I hike year round. Passaic County and Sussex and Bergen Countys in New Jersey also has huge turkey numbers as well. While, I lost my fight and the NY Fall turkey season has been cut bt 2/3 length and the take by 1/2---the real problem was low turkey numbers in---WESTERN, NY. Why low numbers there? There are probably a good 4 reasons that I can think of. Anyway- since I brought my fight to that forum--- I have made more then a few Spring turkey hunters in Western, NY pissed at me. Probably most never hunt Fall turkeys anyway. Some of those Western Countys have had Record setting Fall turkey takes going back over 20 years now!! This is probably one of the reasons that Spring hunters in that area of NY do not hear as many Spring gobblers as in years past. Here in South, NY---I know that this April, I will go out to a area in Florida, NY and hear over 25 toms in one area that I have to keep secret. So- I really like this site as there are authors here with great wisdom!! HuntingNY.com is a great site too- but I dont post as much as I once did.

Same here. GON is Georgia Outdoor Network. Seemed like a pretty good forum the few times I've glanced at it but don't hunt Georgia so only venture there if I run out of stuff to readhoobilly wrote:This is my turkey hunting forum.. I do look at the other sight for good deals on turkey stuff

Re: What other turkey forums do you get on?
I get on here mostly to read and study what works for you guys. I used to get on OG a lot. Now just to stir the pot and see how long I can push it before gettin kicked off. I came close last year. I posted some patterns out of my tristar raptor 12 with some Win LB 4's and 5's at 50 yards (MISTAKE) just showing how well I thought the gun patterned and what would happen if I misjudged yardage. I hunt a lot of cutovers and sometimes they look closer than they are. I made the comment that I did not intentionally mean to shoot one at 50 but those peckerheads on there brought down the plaque on me. I heard all about how shooting one over 40.0000000000000000000000 yards is unethical. Since then I have got rid of the gun due reliability and functioning issues so I can't post any good tss patterns on there explaining how I'm going to shoot one over 40. So this year, I've come to the conclusion I'll post a 2.5oz 8.5 tss load out of my 10 gauge on there and explain how I have every intention of killing one at 107 yards and see where that takes me. That site is a joke!!
