Montana Photos

Post by hobbes »

I had to spend most of the week in northeastern MT (Scobey) last week. I took several photos on the way out and back. The most interesting was the turkeys I spotted on the way there and then again on the way back.

On the way there I spotted 7 birds in a cottonwood riverbottom. Two toms on the left and one of the birds on the right may be a tom or a jake.

On the way back I was staring off into the trees when I looked up and spotted three toms on the side of the road about a mile from where I saw the first group of birds. It's too bad that I figured out they are about 5 miles from where the county is open to hunting.

Great pics, Shane! There's some absolutely wonderful scenery out that way, for sure...but I'd never trade it for a midwestern hardwood ridge!! ;)
