The world lost a great man today. My BIL Ray Nicol went home to be with the Lord this morning. He was my hero ,a real mans man.Tough as nails to the end. He served his country as a Marine and was wounded at the siege of Khe Sahn.In 1995 the aftermath of agent orange knocked him down. A 2 lb brain tumor had to be removed and he was given less than a year to live. He wasn't having any of that and fought hid way back.Its been a series of ups and downs ever since.Dementia set in and he was placed in a nursing home. He couldn't speak,eat,or swallow.It hurt so much to see this courageous man fading away. Hospice came in yesterday and my wife and I drove north for what would be the last time we would see him on this side. Please pray for my wife Debby,his wife Becky and the family.There will be a memorial service for him on Friday.Thank you . God bless.

I hear ya Red. My father went the same way. Big, tough Military man. Could out hike anyone, and drag a Deer up a mountain, no problem.
It took 4 years for him to slowly fade away. The last 2 were bedridden. My mother and I took care of him at home.
He and mother wanted no part of a Nursing Home.

Prayers said and sent, Billie. It is such a hard thing to see someone that you love, fade away, day by day. I pray for Ray and his extended family. He is out of his suffering and dancing on streets paved with gold.
