I guess it was time.

Post by Bigspurs68 »

On my 41st sunrise this spring and the last day for me to be in the turkey woods, I realized that I may be getting loopy.
I took a friend in WV and on our 2nd stop for the day I realized that I couldn't find my favorite mouth call. As we walked, I checked pockets and pouches until I finally came to the conclusion that it was lost.
When we got to a point that I wanted to call from, I got out another call and went to put it in my mouth. This was when I found my favorite call. It was in my mouth.....

Been there, done that. I get so used to having 1 tucked in my cheek, I don't realize it's there. A couple of times this spring, I've gotten home, fixed a sammich, & started eating, suddenly wondering what was so hard in the sammich. Turned out to be a mouth call.

We had a thread on sleepy, dopey turkey hunter tricks. Forgotten guns, clothing, etc. Your incident wouldn't have made the top 10. ;) Gil

I didn't take my gun in out of the truck at camp, I left it in the truck. Then we had some kids from the property next to us come behind the camp on four-wheels one day.
We own our camp site 5 acres. I started taking it in...

I left it one morning this year.

Yeah until you leave your gun in the woods then your good ;). Done that once years ago and have came close a few times since but I always check the area before heading out. Lost my striker that has been with me on about every kill but luckily there was snow on the ground so just had to back track as I couldn't remember the exact spot I was sitting :)

Oh, I know my case isn't extreme this time. There has been many other times and many other stupid events. This just struck me as funny.
