Kilt one

Killed this one at about 9:20 this AM. Sumbitch was on a 12x12 island in the middle of a slough. I waded, he waded and made his stand on this little island. Unfortunately for him, when he got there, he was in range. I was leaning on a tree, standing in 10" of water when I shot him. Great opening day hunt. Beard is long, spurs are sharp.

Yeah, I love swamp birds. I spend most of turkey season with wet feet and I love every minute of it.

I'll hunt them in the riverbottoms in southern IL in a few weeks. Bought us all rubber boots this year (never use them out here) but I'm certain to find a bird across deep water. Congrats again

There are no numbers on any of my clocks below 8. Then all of a sudden, 2 days before turkey season they appear. Then right after the season they disappear.
What's up with that
