Where to find 28 gauge cork filler wads for tss

Post by ehgbyf » March 22nd, 2014, 9:27 pm

I have all my supplies except for the 1/8 28 gauge cork wads. Does anybody have some they would sell me or know where I can get them?

Is there a substitute?

Hal. What difference would it make to use nitro cards in place of corks. My guess more pressure but how much?

There are no numbers on any of my clocks below 8. Then all of a sudden, 2 days before turkey season they appear. Then right after the season they disappear.
What's up with that

Most of the 20 ga loads have enough head room that swapping out a nitro card in the place of the cork probably won't take you over saami. But it's just a guess.... The fit will be different and you may have to go with 32 ga nc to get it to fit in the wads.

Yep I thought about that also. They don't fit the same.

I called and ordered a pack and he said he had to make them and I'd have them next week.

I bought some 12 gauge corks that I'm going to punch out for 20 gauge loads (need 28 gauge corks).
One of the ones on eBay says it punches out to .502.

Can anyone confirm the actual diameter that 28 gauge cork should be??

Yeah, just wasn't sure if 28 gauge corks are actually 28 gauge bore diameter, that's what I was asking.

The punch I got from e-bay fits a 28gauge cork perfectly. It also says 9/16th on the punch if that helps. I dont own a 28 gauge so this is all I know.
