i have around 15 pounds of heavy-shot on hand.i ordered a reloading specialties reloading guide vol 4 and some sam 1 wads.i asked the people that sold these wads and manual to me if i could use their recipes for heavyshot and they said yes i could.on the manual it says heavyweight not heavyshot.they told me heavyweight was heavyshot 13.what my question is has anyone used these recipes that they have listed for heavyweight use heavyshot instead.i just want to be safe.

No, you cannot safely use HW 15 data with HS unless you load it volumetrically. If you load the same weight of HS into a load designed for HW 15, the load with HS will have significantly higher pressure (since the less dense HS will create a longer shot column which will generate more pressure due to its longer bearing surface). If you load the same volume of HS as compared to HW 15, the payload will be lower (due to HS being less dense), and the load will be safe. If the physics of that explanation eludes you (not implying that it will), it would be best to stick to published data with no changes.
no i understand what you are saying and i really want to thank you for a reply.i DONT want to be un-safe.i will just discard this manual since i don't duck hunt and shoot steel or HW-13.i just have a lot of heavy-shot i was wanting to get rid of.i load lead and tss and since i can't find heavier turkey recipes for heavy-shot i will just have to stop looking at the heavy-shot.AGAIN THANKS
