Advise on patterns

Post by Fl strutter » January 21st, 2018, 7:26 pm

I shot these today sighting in scope and wanted y'alls opinion. The first pattern is 8.5s which is what I'm gonna hunt and the second is 8s. Im shooting a rem. 870 with 20 inch barrel and Indian creek 670. I'm pretty happy with the numbers just thaoght id ask the experts. I do wish I had a little more in the 20 inch. I started with a 665 ic and for the 670 ic and it's better. I tried carlsons extended 675 and 680 but patterns were horrible so I sent them back. Also have a 672 ringmaster hd rem. Choke but it wasn't great either. The Indian creek chokes are way more consistent then everything I've tried. Thanks for any advise!

Those patterns are smoking, I wouldn’t touch it.

Thanks. I was thinking about getting a ic 675 to get a lil more in the 20 inch. Going from 665 to 670 sure made a difference but feel like I should of went to 675. Always trying to improve.

This is 8.5s with 665 ic. Looks a little blown and not even. If you was to try and open it up some would you go with 675 or 680 Indian creek? Just tryin to add a little to the 20 inch.

I would hunt with any of those, but would prefer the 8s from the IC .670. I think both would improve with an IC .675, adding a few to the 20 and evening up the 10. Surprised neither the Carlson's .675 nor the .680 shot well for you. I love the ST .675 I am running in my Beretta.

I have a 20 inch barrel and wonder if that's why they didn't work. The Indian creek chokes are very consistent. Not sure if a 675 or 680 would be best. I don't wanna open it up too much but would like a few more in the 20.
