new 20
new 20
Well I broke down and bought a new 20 ga semi. I just got done dove hunting with her and she shot like a dream. It is a Franchi Affinity with a 26" barrel and is super light. I held it and the M2 side by side and couldn't tell a difference other than the price tag. I plan on shooting some of Hal's loads at a turkeys face with it, come March. I've seen a few good chokes for the M2s and will go off of what works for them... as a starting point.
People who don't get it, don't get that they don't get it.

Congrats on the new rig honker! Midwayusa may have have the .555 IC on sale still. I got mine there for 20$ off.
Re: new 20
Sounds sweet!
I believe the bore of a Franchi 20 ga is .633. And a Benelli M2 is .625 (Crio?) I believe. So you're probably not going to want a .555 choke on it. Probably going to need to go wider than .555 even with the Indian Creek.
Maybe somebody who has a Franchi can pipe in.

Agreed. I would start with the cheaper tubes like the Carlson or TruLock. I have had great patterns with TSS thru these chokes.hawglips wrote:Sounds sweet!

Yeah if it's not crio choke system, I wouldn't do the IC. I would go the route Johndoe suggested. I found a review of the Affinity and reviewer was thoroughly impressed. Also, said bore was measured at .620 in the 20 gauge.Johndoe wrote:Agreed. I would start with the cheaper tubes like the Carlson or TruLock. Carlsons has Franchi cylinder listed as .633. Not sure what is right...el diablo wrote: I found a review of the Affinity and reviewer was thoroughly impressed. Also, said bore was measured at .620 in the 20 gauge.

400 is a huge difference. I will check one out next time I get to a hunting store..
if it feels good to me, 700 is a good price!
