Hang on when you squeeze that trigger. Especially in a heavier load. Nice sharp crack. Feels about how a liteweight 243 recoils

Re: Yildiz 410 sxs
My Yildiz O/U I’m gonna have it cut down a hair and a thin pad. Will fit me better for turkey hunting
Re: Yildiz 410 sxs
Nice gun. I have a Yildiz O/U 410 and it is a great gun to carry and hunt with. It took 2 long beards this spring and I couldn't be happier.
Congrats. I look forward to seeing your results.
Mike.

Correction on the weight.
I just weighed it at 5.2 lbs according to my scales. This is more in line with my kg to lb conversion from the Yildiz site.
This gun balances well and seems to be built on its own frame scaled to a 410.
Choke thread pattern is definitely unique, but I see that several popular makers have the chokes.
The academy site indicated 3.3 lbs, which I had figured to be the single shot.

Pretty wood! Here's a money saving suggestion: Use a slip on pad for patterning, zeroing and hunt without the pad. You'll never notice the recoil on a bird and the recoil is not ferocious, btw. Gil
Re: Yildiz 410 sxs
I am having a hard time imagining the recoil to be at a point needing a pad?
This one is not one for my kids, it’s for me. Shouldn’t be anything near the 20 gauge 1 5/8 loads out of my franchi or benelli?
You guys with experience are mentioning for a reason though, I do believe that.

For me it would be for my son and daughter also. That was why I said it would definitely be fitted with a pad. I would use it also, but mainly would be for them.
Re: Yildiz 410 sxs
The calculated recoil of 1 5/8 oz. at 1100 fps in a 6 lb. 20 ga. would about 45 ft. lbs. of energy. A 5.2 lb. .410 shooting 7/8 oz. at 1100 fps is 19.76 ft. lbs. of energy. The only reason I'd consider putting a recoil pad on a .410 would be to extend LOP which is an issue with wingshooting, not shooting at turkeys. For kids, there's not enough recoil to be a problem shooting at turkeys. For practice, a 2.5" factory load would give them confidence and the old switcheroo on the turkey load when hunting. I shoot a single shot Yildiz weighing about 3.5 lbs. at turkeys and while it's quick jab, not a punch, it's not painful or as severe as my 5.5 lb. 20 gauge shooting 1 5/8 oz.
Re: Yildiz 410 sxs
It's more about the bruising on my kids shoulders that I am worried about. they don't seem to mind it too much, but peace of mind goes a long way. Plus if they don't see the bruise it helps them too.
