Savage 220A .410

Post by 2Shooter »

This is my old but new to me Christmas present my wife gave me. It’s a Savage 220A single shot .410. This is a old gun, and Savage quit making the 220A in 1965. Savage made a side lever model from 1965 till 1972 called the 220L. Hope to find a 220A 28ga one day! The 12ga is the most common. I now have 16ga, 20ga, and .410 bore in the 220A.

Steve, nice looking gun. I have a 220B .410, a 220A 20 and 220? 16 ga. My .410 is heavier than the 20, but others say their .410 220s are lighter than mine by a half pound or so. Have you weighed it yet? The extra weight is no big deal and would help smooth out the punchy loads we shoot. As you know, they are fine little guns. Great present. Gil

Thanks Gil, I don’t have my scales handy, but the wife and I both held my 20ga and .410, and the .410 feels every so slight lighter than the 20ga. I have fell in love with these great little guns!! Man there’s nothing like having a wife that buys me guns for Christmas!!! lol

Looking forward to seeing patterns. You gonna try and do a single season kill with each one of them guns? Would be cool
Don't start none, won't be none!
