Mounting Vortex Venom on CZ Bobwhite 28 gauge

Post by decoykrvr »

Several on here have sent me info on mounting open sights on the CZ Bobwhite, but my old eyes favor a FF 3/Venom style sight. Any experience/results/ suggestions would be appreciated.

The Bobwhite has no vent rib. The rib separating the barrels is hollow and care must be taken to flatten it so that it isn't thinned more than necessary to mount a base for a red dot or direct mount a peep sight.

Mine was mounted using a 336 base and tapping the rib.

I have done this with 3 different sxs guns, but I haven't done a Bobwhite. William had to do some machining on the Yildiz to make it sit level, but it was as simple as drilling and tapping the holes on the others.
