20 gauge choke
20 gauge choke
If you had to choose 1 choke for your 20ga shooting TSS which choke would you choose? brand and diameter.
I've been loading TSS 12ga and I'm going to load 20ga this year. Probably going with a 870 26" barrel.

I use an Indian Creek .562 in my Franchi Affinity with TSS #9's.

In my 2 20ga, a Benelli and an 870 I shoot Indian creek .555

I shoot a IC .555 in my M2 and my daughter shoots a Carlsons .575 in her Affinity.

Re: 20 gauge choke
Every barrel is different, but if I had to pick one to start out with it would be an IC .555
Re: 20 gauge choke
All in what kind of pattern you looking for. 562 normal will run 320 to 330 on our test range. Now alot of guys see little more.

Re: 20 gauge choke
When all is said and done it will probably be harder to find a choke that won't shoot it than one that will.
Re: 20 gauge choke
thanks for the feedback, tough choice between IC 555 and Sumtoy 562. Both are great chokes.

Re: 20 gauge choke
If an 870 with a 26” barrel and pushing >1.5 oz of TSS thru it, I’d take a Remington Super Full (0.572) to the woods. If I was card shooting, maybe an IC .555
Re: 20 gauge choke
In my 2 870's a .555 Indian creek shoots the hot patterns I like but in the other one a .575 Carlsons is hard to beat.

Re: 20 gauge choke
I have never tried one of William's .562 tubes but would like to, I will tell you the IC .555 will probably give you a HOT core and won't be very forgiving. If most of your shots are inside 35 yards you might be better off with the SumToy .562 or Carlsons .575, it's all in what you are looking for.
Re: 20 gauge choke
Hey I appreciate the advise. I do like a hot core so I'll probably go that route.turkeyinstrut wrote: ↑January 31st, 2018, 3:11 pmI have never tried one of William's .562 tubes but would like to, I will tell you the IC .555 will probably give you a HOT core and won't be very forgiving.
