M2 20 gauge with steady grip stock?

Post by Bird Buster »

I’m waiting to get a 12ga M2 steady grip on my 20 and would like some feedback from anyone that has done this or tried to

I have a 12ga steady grip on my 20ga M2. Just sand, grind, file the 12ga to fit the receiver on the 20ga.

Any pictures or pointers on where to grind?

I just put the 12ga stock on the 20ga receiver, then put tape on receiver to protect it. I sanded down to the tape trying to match, or blend the conture. In other words don't just work on the edge at the receiver but start further back and blend into the receiver. I didn't take any pictures but it's pretty simple.

ImageCustom paint job, fairly expensive but blends well in most eastern habitats.

Just kidding, I did the paint job. Inexpensive and easy to do. Just grit your teeth and paint.

Many years ago I actually mated a SBE2 stock to a SBE receiver by sanding down the receiver to match. Actually for a poor boy working on it, turned out gooder than expected.

It was stolen with 5 other guns several years ago. Sucks but oh well

I enjoy whittling on stocks. Here's a 10/22 I use as a varmint rifle, and a farm /huntin golf cart that I use every day. I painted it around 1998.
