Stoeger 3020

Post by gobbler83 »

I’ve got a couple of these. I was thinking about have the barrel cut down on one of them. I thought it would be handy have a 22-24 inch barreled gun. Who would y’all recommend on doing the work. Since I got to loading tss I seen very quick there is no need in a 10 or 12. But the patterns of a 3oz load in a 10 is pretty amazing. I just honestly don’t see the point. I prolly will try and get one with the 10 just to say I have. But I’m really interested in cutting one of these 20’s down.

Just a thought. The issue mite not be cutting the barrels down but rather inletting them and threading for a choke system. If you go that direction. You have to have enuff "meat" left in the barrel. Not sure about your location but I had a single shot 20 ga H&R barrel done by Steve Cale and it was really done well. He is a full time professional gunsmith in WV.

I know the post is a few years old but I’m having mine cut down to about 20-22” I’m having Comp-N-Choke do mine.. Only issue I’m seeing in doing this is getting it threaded to a thread pattern that multiple choke companies offer. Stuart and CnC mentioned either Win choke or TruChoke
