Taurus Judge with TSS?

Post by HartClemson99 »

Has anyone ever patterned TSS out of a Taurus Judge?

I saw the video from Realtree where Phillip Culpepper shot one fanning this spring in Florida and it has my gears spinning.

I've been contemplating the exact same thing.

Cylinder gap might be an unnecessary hurdle. Contenders have a choke tube.

I've heard of a couple of guys who tinkered around with it. Something about the barrel rifling blew the patterns. I think 5 - 10 yards was about all they were getting out of them. That's been a couple of years back though so my memory could be failing me

The Magnum Research, BFR, has screw in chokes....and a vent rib. Do it.

Why would one even adventure out to shoot a turkey with a 410 pistol

Single action revolver will click when cocked. You can get the hammer back on a Contender without noise. Having more than one shot tends to be a moot point in a hunting handgun.

It also has a rifled barrel. I think that's what is going to cause you issues

I've seen nice patterns out of a Contender before.

That rifled barrel will destroy that pattern.

Yup that is true. Now one of them have chokes but it was left hand threads. Never did hear how it worked out for the guy. Just plain old shell not anything like this.

I would think as close as the bird would need to be given the sparse pattern, that penetration would not be an issue. So lead 9's may be the choice when shooting 10ish yards. I saw a video where guy crawled on one with a fan and shot him at about 3 steps.
