Benelli M2 with XXXL load

Post by golfernash »

Shot my first few rounds with the 3XL 1 7/8 load. This was with an IC .555 at 40 yards. I would love to open it up a bit to a 300/275 split. What choke would y'all recommend ?

That's a 349/225 pattern in case you can't see the writing.

That's about what mine shoots also, I shoot the 1 5/8 now, didn't like the recoil and I didn't need 340 in the 10. A 562 is about what would get you there I think. Nice pattern.

I have a .562 and will try it tomorrow but it has stunk with every load I have tried with it.

Go back to the Big 20xl and a 585 choke. 250/250'is already over kill.

There are no numbers on any of my clocks below 8. Then all of a sudden, 2 days before turkey season they appear. Then right after the season they disappear.
What's up with that

I got a 300/300 pattern with the .582 Undertaker and something like 340/270 with the .562 IC shooting that load.
I agree with JD, the 1 5/8oz load is the bombdiggity, it has plenty of umph to kill way farther than need be and can be choked to meet your needs. My 2 pennies.

It looks like I will be using the 1 5/8 load anyway. I cant get these 3 inch hulls to cycle in the M2 no matter what I try. I have trimmed packed and everything else to no avail.

I'm shooting the stubby, which is 1 5/8 in a 2 3/4" shell. No problems with 50+ yard shots

Put a 3 incher in the barrel and fill the magazine with 2 3/4 shells. Know several people that do that.

I load the big 20xl 3in Fed hulls. Roll crimps won't feed from magazine in my M2. But that load can be fold crimped and it feeds fine

Yep, That's the easiest fix, but a little pricey. You'll have a hundred and a half in it by the time you get the Mec loader and the Super Crown crimper.

And when you add a gaep crimp finisher the expense goes up! But it sure makes a pretty shell!

Factory full in my M2 with XXXL gave about 240/200 with 8.5's. I put XL's in the mag.
