My Newest Turkey Killer
My Newest Turkey Killer
Well I was going to buy the Stoeger M3020 20GA.Went to a gun store and handled a Benelli M2 20 Gauge in APG camo 26 inch barrell and I was ruined. I loved it I just kept thinking to myself I never ever owed a gun this expensive. After 2 weeks of it eating at me I went and bought it yesterday. I am one happy guy. If you guys can tell me what choke you use and any pattern pictures I would appreciate it. I will be using Federal HW #7. I do have a half of a box of Nitro straight 7 left also.
I thought you would be BIGGER
Re: My Newest Turkey Killer
if you will only be shooting federal hw #7 i would call sumtoy and get a .562-5. that load choke combo is the best for the m2!!! it also shoots tss well with the sumtoy. if just shooting tss try the factory full and if the factory full is not the pattern u want than a carlson or trulock

Great Gun.. If it were me starting from scratch with the Fed 7s I would call William at SumToy and Trulock.. Order both compare them in the same conditions and pick the winner..
I would have it dipped in MO or it hit it with some Flat black Krylon.

You traitor!!!
I finally saw a Stoeger the other day, and really thought it was cool. Now you cancelled out and got a Nelli.
Joking aside, you have gotten the best. You will enjoy that gun for years to come. Just hope you don't get too many clicks.
Always look down, and make sure the bolt is locked in place, while calling your bird in.

Great gun !!!
To prevent the bolt opening too easily order
The $13 Wolf spring!
Mine now slams like a HAMMER!!!
It won't likely get any accidental bolt movement!!!

Yup just sit there and stew about it, think, "Is this gun going to go off" Whisper it under your breath while the bird closes.. Your primary focus should be whether your gun will perform..Shooter wrote: Just hope you don't get too many clicks.

Re: My Newest Turkey Killer
Even with with the wolf, mine has come out a few times. Never at a good time. If I were to get another semi, I would look at beretta, they seem to not have the click issue. But the m2 carries and points like no other.K9Doc wrote:Great gun !!!

Re: My Newest Turkey Killer
See Job get the wolf spring, that Benelli will perform some of the time then.. And when it goes click and the gobbler runs off, you can look down and know you still have the best turkey killing 20 gauge on the marketpedro wrote:Even with with the wolf, mine has come out a few times. My Newest Turkey Killer
why have they not fixed this? I would be pissed to spend that much and have it do that. Has anyone sent it back to Benelli and had then fix it?

It's the nature of inertia driven actions. Get to heavy of a spring and it want cycle low power shells. I've tried forcing it out of battery with the heavy spring and I can't do it. With the factory spring I could hear the action working just by walking off a ridge.gophert wrote:why have they not fixed this? I would be pissed to spend that much and have it do that. Love my M2! I've only hunted with it one season, no problems so far. It was tough spending thay much on a gun but I've never splurged before and my wife actually liked the way it felt. She got her 1st with it last year. It's a joy to tote and shoot compared to my old 835.

Yep, someone needs to come up with a spring tension in between the two.turkey_slayer wrote:It's the nature of inertia driven actions. Get to heavy of a spring and it want cycle low power shells. "Inertia-Driven".... not exactly correct per basic Newtonian physics but hey,,, what the heck!?... advertising works.gophert wrote:why have they not fixed this? I would be pissed to spend that much and have it do that. Has anyone sent it back to Benelli and had then fix it?
I wish Stoeger/Benelli would just calll their "inertia driven actions" what they actually are: oversized, blowback actions.
The concept is older than dirt and relies on a bolt spring to operate and the recoil is more stout, sharper. Yawn.
Decent looking shotgun though Job. Hope it works well for you.

Congrats Job! I think you'll enjoy her.

Re: My Newest Turkey Killer
I have emailed them a few time with no response. Believe me I was when it happened in the field. I just need to trade it or sell the ine I have, does no good in the safe with little confidence.gophert wrote:why have they not fixed this? I would be pissed to spend that much and have it do that. Re: My Newest Turkey Killer
Call Jeff at crums. He has a modification to get rid of the Benelli click. He just worked on my m2 20 gauge. Quick turn around. My new m2 was tight from the factory so I sent it to him just to be safe.
