Thanks, it's sweet shooting, shot some 1 5/8 oz HW #7s this afternoon, with minimal recoil.

So you have been at the bench. Very nice.

There are no numbers on any of my clocks below 8. Then all of a sudden, 2 days before turkey season they appear. Then right after the season they disappear.
What's up with that

That I have. :D I believe I have a good load inside of max pressures, and velocity enough for 60+ yd kills. My patterns aren't where I want them, but I think a different choke might solve that.

What choke are shooting, the IC .555? Have you polished your barrel yet? Have you compared it to the load that shoots so well out of your Charles Daly? My new 870 20 is finished, I'm just waiting for the camo dip kit to go on sale.

I was shooting my PG .570 (I believe the IC .555 might be the ticket). I haven't polished the barrel yet. I shot the 1 3/8 load that shoots so well with the CD through this gun/barrel (21"), and it gave 220s at 40, but that was with the IC .555.

Although I would have liked to see better patterns with this load, this test was actually just checking to see if I could attain the speed needed for lethal kills at extend ranges, with minimal pressures. Although you can't determine pressures at the bench, it has a noticably lighter recoil than the 1 3/8 oz load.

With the Knoxx Stock, and the added cheekpiece, and holding the gun lightly, made a huge difference in recoil. the 1 5/8 oz literally felt like I was shooting a 3/4 oz dove load.

I see this topic has ventured off subject, and I appologize to the OP for that.
