1187 Special Purpose 12ga

Post by Hoobilly »

My son bought this 1187 today for $250
Gonna grab a IndianCreek and the Trijicon rifle sights for it and test some Tennessee Twisters out of it. He’s excited for the great deal and can’t wait to hunt with it.

Dang buddy that is a good deal. I like the plain shotgun barrels on my Turkey guns.

That's a good deal if the gun is even in remotely good shape.

I bought a used sportsman field model a few years ago for upland for $400 and thought I got a decent deal. It had no wear on it when I bought it. I realize it's a cheaper model but....... I don't believe they are made to the same standards they used to be. Since I bought it I've cracked the cheap wood forearm hunting phez at around -10, the front bead came off, and the bolt charging handle fell out on a hunt last fall. But.....it's cycled every shell I've put in it from lighter loads for Huns and sharpies to heavy loads for turkeys and waterfowl. Keep it clean and dry and replace o-rings as needed and it seems to keep churning through ammo.
