Re: Savage 301 vs Rossi Tuffy .410s
Here’s a 301 with a EGW mount, and a FF4. Just took a FF3 off, and put the FF4 on.

Re: 16ga Only Turkey Kills
I wanted to get this thread going for 2021, sorry about opening an old one. Delete if need be. But, I've got my Dad's Winchester 37 16 single. It's a full choke, and been meaning to give it a try on turkeys. I don't handload shotshells and the heaviest loads I can find are 1 1/8 oz. Cheddite has a ...

Re: CZ drake 28
The Yildiz 28ga O/U has shiny blued barrels that are chromed lined, and I use smoked gray colored cerakote on mine. Yildiz website says chrome plated steel on all barrels http://www.yildizshotgun.com/tr/firma_i.html Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I've had my Yildiz 28ga o/u for 3 years, and it h...

Yildiz O/U Does anyone know the thread type? Not a big fan of the IC chokes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Huglu threads I believe. Briley will make a custom choke. Having some made for a Rizzini 28ga & I can let you know how they perform after I get them. Thanks. I looked at briley Sent f...

Re: CZ drake 28
Here’s a picture of my Yildiz 28ga O/U. I had Ritchie Doss in North Carolina cerakote the barrel, and receiver. I have a Stevens 555 20ga also, and would go that route with a 28ga, because they use mobil chokes, and the metal comes flat black. To me both guns are equal in quality, and you will come...

Re: Rem 870 Super Mag
Steve, you must have had shot burning a hole in your loading bench to shoot that much shot with one trigger pull. That or you ran out of things to do. ;) Now you can get back to shooting your .410 with a third of the shot the 2.5 oz. load carries and kill them 1/3rd as dead. The pattern is a take n...

Re: Rem 870 Super Mag
Would it extract and eject? My 870 Supermag is a POS. I've been using it developing light woodcock/quail loads for another gun and I have to use a ramrod to complete extraction in about every 3rd shot with factory light loads yesterday. It did the same NIB with factory dove/quail loads. Gil Yes Gil...

Got Killer my ole Rem 870 3 1/2” out yesterday, and tried a 2 1/2 oz load with 2 ozs of 9’s and a 1/2 oz of 8’s with a Indian Creek .665 choke @ 40 yards.
10”-488
10”-20” 287

Over kill but I just had to know what Killer could do!!!

Re: Savage 220A .410 Single Shot Project Gun
Steve, that's amazing. I have several single-shots with factory fulls that deliver the mail. (Postal humor?) I don't believe the actions are scaled to the gauge so you should be able to eventually find a stock from a junker in another gauge. Have you tried on a stock from your Savage 16 to see it f...

Savage 220A .410 Single Shot Project Gun
Bought a rough Savage 220A .410 project gun without a stock for $80. Saw just the barrel on Numrick is $119, so I figured I couldn’t go wrong with everything working. Swapped the .410 barrel, and forearm on to a 20ga 220A that I have to see what it would do. 40 yards .375 duplex load 9.5x10 10”-189 ...

Re: Tru choke 28 ga threads??
Yes, you will be good! SumToy or Comp N Choke can make one, and hopefully Indian Creek will be able to in the summer. I’ve got a 16ga Savage 220A that Mike Orlen threaded for chokes, and he did a great job! I shoot tss through a Colonial turkey choke in it. Let us know how it goes!
