Re: Want to get my daughter shooting
As many know I don't like the mossys either but still set up one or two per year. They also seem to kick a little harder as Ronny says although I have not done any scientific study. The first youth shotgun I built, I built specifically because I don't feel like it's fair to a child to call a turkey ...

Re: Box Calls
Never cared for the newer lynch calls. The old ones now, they were fine calls. Lots of crap gone on with lynch in the last 20yrsnor so. Very little of it good. Try the Primos box cutter. Seen lots of birds killed with them around here.

Probably too tight a choke for any brand except for Indian Creek. I would go to 675 somewhere in there in other choke Brands.

Can't say for sure but I've been gone over 30 years so it's quite possible or not. There used to be MAFES unit of Mississippi State down there that we used to hunt doves on.

Jackson. Be more specific, I'm in Madison. If your name references hunting the refuge while at State, those birds out there took me to school every time I tried. Welcome. FC Northeast Jackson. Pretty close to JA. Sorry was trying to reply amongst a busy day at work. I haven't hunted the refuge, but...

Re: Longbeards....wow !
Sorry, I posted this before I was finished. If you read any of the posts regarding patterns of long beard shells the vast majority of them tout the very high 10 inch numbers. However no one speaks of the 20 inch numbers because they are so very thin. It makes it look like it's a similar pattern and ...

Re: Longbeards....wow !
I actually think people missed the point about long beards. In the 20 gauge they're going awfully slow for Lead and if you go to fives or fours the pattern will be super sparse. Add to that the practice of supertight chokes to make extra tight patterns and you have loads that are just too tight

Not gonna work. They already claim there isn't enough money to maintain Fed lands. Now they will sell them for the cash and the maintenance funds will be given to the sorry and lazy.
