Brent, don't you love the weight of that little gun? It looks fabulous. Who did it? I had trigger work done on mine to ease the pull and eliminate creep. I bought one for a friend and the trigger was perfect out of the box. How is your trigger? Gil

Re: Wrapped up a season of firsts with one last one!
Pete, great season. Reminds me of the time I had one gobble in a pine tree less than 10 yards from me. I only ran one series of soft clucks and shut up. He parachuted within 30 steps which was his bad move. Tommy, I've been meaning to ask you about your "Mossman" ghillie suit.Where'd that ...

Sight is something many of us take for granted. Good to hear you are on the mend. My Mother-in-law has steadily lost her eyesight due to eye disease. It has been a sad thing to watch a loved one slowly and irrevocably lose vision.

have that Savage fluted and drop a lb of steel! looks good. I aim to be shooting my dads RedLabel 28 next spring. gotta get my order in for tss soon That's an idea, but at 5 lbs., 13 oz., it's still "light", but tubby in comparison with the Yildiz, but then so is a 1911A pistol with a loa...

Last day of the season on public land for turkeybuster. 11 3/4" beard, 1 5/8" spurs, 19 lbs. Shot with Mossy 500 .410 at 33 yards with 13/16 oz. of TSS 9's. Bird had 4 #2 nickle-plated shot in breast, wing and thigh joint. All face S.E. Ga, and on your knees chant in unison: "we are n...

Re: Bonehead mistakes
About 25 years ago, my routine was to get up, fix the coffee and did so in gym shorts and flipflops. After 7 days of hunting, the ole noggin' gets a little foggy and as I drove down the interstate at 430 a.m. to a friend's place on the Ogeechee, about an hour away, I realized I had on my gym shorts ...

Yildiz vs. Savage 220B .410 shoot-out (sorta...)
I purchased a second Yildiz .410 and took delivery of a Savage 220B .410 this weekend. I had an opportunity to shoot each at 40 yards this morning with TSS 9’s, 13/16 oz. While one shot is not a statistical certainty, it gave me a good idea of what lies in store for both down the road. My first Yild...

Re: Good aftermarket stock for Mossberg 500 20 gauge?
Knoxx Spec Ops stock. I have one for my 835 and it fits the 20 Super Bantam with a slight modification with a dremel tool. Knoxx probably has one that fits without modification. The mod removed a small amount of metal which was touching the slide release. It added a full pound to the super bantam so...

When using an electric knife, start from the gills and work back towards the tail stop the cut with an inch to half inch left. Don't cut through the skin at the tail. Flip the scale side down of the filet which is still attached to the fish. With one hand, hold the fish and with the knife parallel t...

Yildiz Year-end Byrd
This morning I heard the bird on the limb early and had a westerly bearing on the compass. Bird answered my hoots and led me cross country into wet, thick swamp. I stopped 150 yards short and knew it was pointless to call or try to set up until he flew as I didn’t know where the dry land was. He fle...
