Re: Couple recent merriams
Great and authentic looking mounts and very well done, with extras, for the areas where they are harvested
Mine are all hung from rafters and hangin' in my shop, as there's no room in da' house

What a grand hunt fer' yer' son n' yer'self, Wayne and justly deserved  Last time I had a chance fer' a hunt like that, was in a privately owned D.U. managed flooded timbered watershed ;) My ole' farmer client, at the time, surprised me at the last moment before we loaded guns up that after...

Re: Elk!
I finally got around to grinding elk. She made 43 - 1.5 lb packages of burger, roughly 65 lbs of burger. That's fairly clean burger too with anything nasty removed. The three antelope are next up. IMG_20231017_200717591.jpg WHOOO-weee, 65# of tender elk burger, wit' no TSS shot in it  ;)

Re: Getting ocellated turkey skins out of Mexico
For the record I went with Rio Sonora outfitters for my Goulds. Brad Fulk (no problems) Went with Yukkutz outfitters for my Occelated (no problems) Only problem I’m having now is gettin my Occelated on the wall from my taxidermist. He reassured me a couple months ago that he’s still alive. 😫 Shoot,...

Re: Getting ocellated turkey skins out of Mexico
I think the new MX government has pretty much made it impossible for an individual to bring back his own trophies into the U.S. That's what Manuel told me anyway, and why would he lie? Judging from my own near-50 years of experience in dealing with Mexican "authorities", everyone down the...

Re: Getting ocellated turkey skins out of Mexico
Jim, My 1st hunt in Mexico for Goulds, Lovett Williams had an importer lined up for importing skins, (Lovett had passed on just before the hunt, unfortunately) and it was a nightmare when the fella finally made it to the boarder a couple months later, for import. I had a call from his daughter(lucky...
