Re: 12 ga 2 3/4” tss loads
The first load I came up with back in '06 with the 9s was a 2-3/4" 1-5/8 oz 12 ga load for my brother's old Wingmaster. It was a gun he won in the 80s in a biggest deer contest. Anyway, he killed two with it the next spring in TX that were much farther than polite company will talk about when h...

Re: closest I've ever called one in without killing him
I'd been calling for the past 3 hours, ready to kill any bird at any moment the whole time - except for about a 30 second window. He was a very fortunate fowl.forkedlighting wrote: ↑December 12th, 2017, 7:11 pm Lesson one never call if you are not ready kill a turkey

closest I've ever called one in without killing him
Was out this weekend and prospecting along, and around mid morning worked my way over to a big creek to see if I could cross it. I saw that I could and called a few times before I dropped down to cross. It took about 1-1/2 minute, when I was about in the middle of the creek with my gun strapped on m...

Longest spurs I've ever seen on a bird I killed was 1-7/16" off a Texas rio.

Hal’s new Lil Zip 1260fps 1 5/8oz load
Not a significant difference in the 20”. I pay more attention to the 20” numbers than the 10” when looking for consistency. There was a small alteration between the two that so far hasn’t seemed to make much difference.
357 count 9s for these.

Took my youngest daughter and oldest grandson out Saturday morning and had some quality time in the swamp. http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff168/hawglips/Duck%20hunt%20Trevor%20and%20Lauren%2010-17/IMG_3747_zps7dr22hd8.jpg http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff168/hawglips/Duck%20hunt%20Trevor%20a...

Went out with a grandson Saturday and got some quality hiking and sitting and shooting in. He wanted it to be sporting, so he opted for a NEF single shot 20" barrel .410 loaded with 11/16 oz of Pb 6s. I toted my iron sight BL22 (as usual) with some subsonic 42 gr hollow points. http://i243.phot...

Re: 100 yard buckshot
I have received a report of 90 yard kill with #BBs. There aren't many people shooting TSS for deer, but 100 yds is likely the first time someone who has it choked right tries it, IMO.

Re: CZ 28 ga, 1-5/8 oz
Let's see what develops in factory loads in 3" for 28 ga. Once that happens, the components will most likely follow from reloading sites. Then it's game on. Brass hulls are already available and since they don't depend on crimping to hold the shot in the shell, 2 3/4" chambered guns would...

CZ 28 ga, 1-5/8 oz
The only thing wrong with this load is that with the light CZ O/U it kicks like a big boy. Other than that, it's going to be a great load to shoot at turkeys with. 1038 fps, 10240 psi 40 yds, 10" and 10-20" numbers, with 9-1/2s and Trulock .520. http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff168/haw...

Here's a look at some patterns I've shot today with my Yildiz and a CompNChoke .385 (with my best Factory Full pattern of 10s thrown in for reference); my 370NM load. 40 yds, 10" and 10-20" numbers 10s Factory Full http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff168/hawglips/patterns/IMG_3663_zpssaoh...

Nice!
Looks like your pattern matches up with the shot's penetration about right!

Re: 20 ga. 1-5/8 TSS vs. Same in 12 ga.
One of the intriguing things about TSS is not only the other-league performance you can get with it, but how you can do so many things with it. My first load with it was a 1-5/8 oz 2-3/4" 12 ga load. One of my latest is a 1-5/8 oz 28 ga load. It's crazy to think you have the capability of 1-5/8...
