Re: What Does It Mean?

Y'all are complete dummies! :banghead: Obviously, the drumming produces a lot of vibration which trickles down to the gobbler's "sensitive area" and gets him ready for his girlfriends. The spitting is also quite obvious...lubrication. BIG DUMMIES!! If y'all have any more questions, please ...

1. I'd say the yelp also. Most people bark, they don't yelp.

2. Definately the diaphram.

3. I have no problem telling people to shut up when they are hunting with me, but when not hunting, I'll just say, "That sounds pretty good." :?

Welcome, Brad.

I've never carried, or used, a flashlight while turkey hunting. Everybody has their own "thing", but expensive flashlights have never appealed to me. Looks like you have a nice collection though.

Re: MKW...Need your help bud!

I'd prolly go 6.5-20 in something mid-range in price. Leupold is always good, but you could get by a little cheaper with Nikon, Burris, or Bushnell. If you want absolute quality, look at NightForce. Nice rig...even if it is a Savage! :D

Re: 688 yard 243 Elk Kill

A .243 is too litle for whitetail if you are prone to take marginal shots or can't shoot very well. With proper bullets, I'd be very comfortable elk hunting with a .243. Everybody has their favorite caliber and it usually comes from performance in the field. As for me, in 37 yrs of deer hunting, I'...

For the first time in a long time...I have no desire to go. Once you've seen "the stuff" multiple times, the only reason to go is the see people and I'd rather meet up with them on a hunt somewhere. Mike "THE SEE" people? Who and what they hell are they? My bad. I meant...

Re: Serious Decoy Question?

A good Hunting blind is a real asset in the woods. I usually have one in the pull cart along with decoys, chairs, cooler, toaster oven and the Honda generator. It will conceal your movement. Especially when you are making your lunch or reading your NWTF Magazine. :toothy7: :toothy7: :toot...

Not trying to start anything or offend anyone, but I hope I am not the only one here that finds these "long shot" videos a bit irresponsible and offensive. Sure, these people that do that sort of thing are probably great marksmen, but how many not-so-great marksmen will think they can do ...

Re: 688 yard 243 Elk Kill

And I have dumbasses tell me all the time that a .243 is a varmint caliber and not even big enough for southern whitetail. 688yrds is farther than I'd take a shot, but you can't argue with that performance. As Tom knows, a .243 is my favorite caliber.

Re: The season's over...

but the quality of coaching and amount of baseball played is worth all the sacrifices! Good point. A coach can either hold back natural talent or help it excell. Very, very true. Andy's current coach has a son that got drafted out of high school, last year, by the Rays, but turned it down for a ful...

I'm glad that you found your hat, Kevin. I fully understand the "lucky hat" concept. I have been wearing the same hat for every turkey that I've ever killed, except the very first one. Don't know what I'd do without it.

Turkeys do not like to enter the set-up of a hunter unless he is a card toting member of the NWTF. Only the best turkey hunters can kill turkeys without being an active member. Statistics clearly show that Diamond Life Members kill the vast majority of gobblers every spring. :toothy7: :toothy7: :too...

10 months is a lot of baseball. I don't push him to play, but I do push him to be the best he can be if he does play. Funny thing is...we practice on Tues and Thrus every week durring the season and when I picked him up from school today, he said, "Dang, I sure wish we had practice today."...
