Are you going to manufacture them in China or contract with Dept. of Corrections to have students at Alabama Polytechnic School for the Criminally Insane make these in lieu of wallets and license plates? Antlers and a Porky Pig face for deer and hog hunters would be a bonus for seamless sliding int...

They are just marketing to the masses. Shiny new colorful trinkets...gotta have it mentality. It seems calls and dekes can be changed regularly to be reintroduced as new. If they we not in the business of selling sportsman "stuff", their cat would not be as popular. I mean how exciting wou...

Re: What was your moment?
It was running the ridges of so Illinois chasing gobbles from the Mississippi to the Ohio. I didn't kill a bird till my third year into it. When hearing a gobble makes the hair on neck stand up...this is good stuff. The combination of calling and woodsman ship made turkey hunting one of my greatest ...

Just me?
Is it just me? Or does anybody else go to bed playing out the possible scenarios of your upcoming turkey season? As the opener draws near I find myself all consumed with everything turkey. No matter what the hunting season I am always looking forward to my next turkey hunt.

I like it lots. I buy it at the factory outlet store for about 25% of retail. I do not think I would pay full price for it.

Re: what would you have done in this situation?
If possible slip away from Henrietta southeast across the creek and try hunting him from there. If he is getting closer, getting between him and her is ideal. The wind can help in days like this cover up movement. If she would bust me...I think I would sit and let it play out. It is opening day and ...

Try to get to those trees or pop up blind. My layout blind that I use for waterfowl is invisible in winter wheat. If he is by himself a decoy set up could prove fatal.

if i could make it to the corner i would try to set up just inside the woods. try to call the tom in. my guess is that they would make their way to the field. and hopefully get close enough.

Slip in as close to him from the east as possible and try to get him in the woods. If that did not work then slide out into the edge of the field and observe the reposition.

Re: Roost or not to Roost
I have put many birds to bed. I started hunting in the vast woodland called the Shawnee national forest in southern Illinois public land. We would stretch below a ridge and try to roost one. We were very successful over the years by being close to the birds in the morning. You have to stop hunting a...

I have used the shaker with success in locating some birds on the roost. Never had any luck during a hunt. I seem to pull that trick out when I have nothing else going for me.
