Re: Who's ready
I hunt them in the fall and usually travel to a few different states chasing them. Its a different kind of fun compared to spring. Whether with a bow or shotgun its only gobblers i go after. I've had years I hunted them 8 months out of the year.

Re: Nest raiders
I can’t put an average number to how many nests a raccoon destroys. I do know they are opportunistic and will definitely eat eggs.I know too that over the years I definitely have noted an increase in daylight activity of raccoons around the nesting season of my area turkeys. I also know that the us...

The turkeys don't care what the camo job looks like. If my hunting buddies criticized a camo job they wouldn't be taken along again.

The factory extra full was also a good performer. I don't shoot the gun much maybe 1 bird a year just to bring it out of the safe. Usually carry a smaller gun that's lighter and has plenty of range.

First or last pattern out of the bunch are only ones I would attempt to hunt with. But it is fun to shoot some paper with a new gun as long as its not a 3 1/2" heavy load.

Indian Creek and a 2.5oz or heavier load of 8.5s or 8s will be your ticket for maximizing your range. There's alot of drop i have noticed at 80yds and further. Good luck on your quest for maximizing your range.

Re: Over Under VS Semi Dove Guns
Even with a dog, shooting doubles in fields with cover is a sure fire way to lose one bird, or spend more time looking for birds on the ground than in the sky as action can be fast and short. One field owner asks that people only shoot one at a time as many birds are lost shooting doubles. Gil Alwa...

Re: Over Under VS Semi Dove Guns
All depends on if you want to shoot triples or just doubles. Some of the fields I hunt around me we get 30 packs and good sized groups that decoy like ducks. If I have a 2 barrel its hard to shoot a triple out of a group.
